Yountville, CA + Saariselkä, Finland: Goose on the side!

Another great review on Apple Podcasts!

5 star rating!!

“The friends you wish you had: These two are so cool and funny. But the magic is in their natural banter. They are immediately likable and you’ll wish they were your besties bringing over the wine on a Wednesday…”

AND WAIT FOR IT…..

We now have a website for our web series, Live from [Blank]! Check out our latest episode from Kansas, Missouri, and follow along! And if you’re up for a great laugh, watch Lulu and Alison on their Curateur Unboxing video!

We all know that Lulu is a big dog lover, but she’s now obsessed with the thought that she may be ready to get a dog for company. She has a heart for big dogs, but knows with her current and upcoming traveling lifestyle, she’ll need a small dog.

Not usually one to watch documentaries, Alison took her husband’s suggestion and then fell deep into the rabbit hole with The Way Down on HBO Max. She can’t wait until more episodes come out! Now I’m gonna have to watch this one! She’s got me all intrigued!

Alison wishes for a puppy-sized neck pillow that will allow her dog to float while she bathes him. Right now she has been smearing peanut butter on the wall to distract the dog and keep him still. Check this site out, Ali! HedzupPets and see if you can find one for him!

It may sound odd to some, but one ‘up-side’ of the pandemic for gig workers was the lack of ‘hustle stress.’ So, although she’s grateful to be working, Lulu somewhat longs for that desperation and tunnel vision nature of that stress to be gone, like it was in lockdown.

I love the sound of Lulu’s 10K day this week! Super chill day filled with naps, wine and a bucket list dinner! She stayed in the cheapest room possible at Bardessono Hotel as the Quartole Villa with a private purge pool , wine fridge & upgraded to include a hot air balloon ride at sunrise would’ve eaten up most of her 10K budget. But, she embraced the indulgent nature of 10K life and skipped breakfast and chose to sleep in!

Ready to embrace the fruits of the local flavor, she had an SUV from Wine Country Bay Area Limousine Service pick her up for a visit to the local Napa Valley winery , Silver Trident Winery, where she was able to enjoy great wine in the home furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, a whole new approach pairing great wines with world-class home décor.

Fully convinced of her own clumsiness, Lulu accounted for having to purchase some of the expensive Ralph Lauren items. She figured she’d spill wine on the RL Stadium throw blanket, break her Ethan wine glass and know over the Foo Dog table lamp. All that fumbling most likely brought a couple bruises, so she purchased some Miracle Plus Arnica Cream

Hungry after all the wine, she had lunch at Bistro Jeanty. There she had Dungeness crab souffle with whiskey sauce, mussels, buttered egg noodles and more. Wait…this vacation is getting too busy! It’s NAP TIME! As Lulu said, “The word NAP is in NAPA!” Once rested, it was time to fulfill her bucket list dinner at French Laundry, where she reveals she is taking this 10K day on New Year’s Eve so she can partake in Chef Thomas Keller’s white truffle and caviar dinner!

Ever thoughtful and considerate, Lulu created a date night picnic for her driver and a guest so they could enjoy the time while she was eating. She’s just the sweetest! And that ends her 10K day at $10,000!

What a great Mom Alison is, creating holiday magic for her 7 yr. old daughter, Hannah even in her imaginary luxury travel days! With round trip prices being under $700 per person, she couldn’t resist taking her to Saariselkä, Finland for some chilly holiday fun! The whole reason for choosing this city was to stay at this magical hotel, Kakslauttanen. There they have newly built Kelo-Glass igloos that combine the comforting warmth of their cozy log chalets with the sensational views of our world-famous glass igloos. They sleep up to six and feature a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and a bedroom with a stunning glass roof! Do yourself a favor and go to their website to watch their videos! It looks like an extravagant winter wonderland filled with such wintertime fun!

What would a wild Finland trip be without a Reindeer Safari? She and Hannah were greeted with thermal outfits to wear as the enjoy a reindeer meet and greet then a ride on a reindeer led sleigh to a traditional reindeer herder’s shelter where the herder prepares coffee on an open fire and shares stories about the region’s nature and culture.

And as if she wasn’t cold enough, she chose to go on the Sampo IceBreaker where they break through the icy ocean waters then partook of taking a dip in the Bay of Bothnia in a dry suit. She & Hannah got a certificate for their bravery as well as as 3-course lunch. That was a great distraction before her big surprise for Hannah…meeting Santa & Mrs. Claus at their home! Mrs. Claus greeted them and promptly took them into the gift shop for a hot drink and shopping. Who knew Mrs. C was a consummate up-seller?? Of course, Alison pre-ordered $1000 in gifts. I mean, it’s a 10K day AND Christmas!

Ravintola was the dinner choice where they enjoyed Finnish blini, Snow Grouse and Goose textures (what?), lingonberries and sautéed reindeer (WHAT??) and some fine red wine. I know Alison was able to get Hannah to eat fried bugs, but not sure if she’d get her to try some of that stuff! Hope they had chicken nuggets!

The post-dinner entertainment was more outdoor fun! They enjoyed the magical Northern Lights on their Aurora Husky Safari where they learned to lead the dogs and enjoy the brisk winter air with a hot drink and some good husky stories! I bet those dogs are good storytellers! And that, folks is the end of her 10K day, totaling $10,000! I SO want to take this trip!!

Both Alison and Lulu are happy that gigs are back! Alison really loves being back onstage again and Lulu loves the festive nature of being a part of a holiday show cast! People bring snacks and treats in every day and just have a great time together. So much to be grateful for.
