Siem Reap, Cambodia + Missoula, Montana:

Another great review on Apple Podcasts!

5 star rating!!

“The friends you wish you had: These two are so cool and funny. But the magic is in their natural banter. They are immediately likable and you’ll wish they were your besties bringing over the wine on a Wednesday…”

AND WAIT FOR IT…..

We now have a website for our web series, Live from [Blank]! Check out our latest episode from Kansas, Missouri, and follow along! And if you’re up for a great laugh, watch Lulu and Alison on their Curateur Unboxing video!

Lulu is currently obsessed with her friendship with Alison as she thought she was helping her out…but she wasn’t. No worries, she’s still grateful & obsessed!

Not one to shy away from eating an entire personal pan pizza, Alison is obsessed with her newest pizza combination of pepperoni, spinach, banana peppers and pineapple.

Lulu wishes there was a way to easily zip up dresses with back zippers herself. Alison told her there was something already invented to do that so I looked it up. Do yourself a favor and click here to play a game I like to call…’wait…is that a sex toy?’

Running out of room as Christmas approaches, Alison wishes she had a gift closet to store Christmas gifts where her kids couldn’t find them.

After the 10K ladies discussed StarWars vs. Star Trek, fashion & beauty advice and more, Alison shared her 10K day. She went to Siem Reap, Cambodia and stayed in the Pool Suite at Amansara, where they provide:

  • A private courtyard

  • Private plunge pool (6m x 5m)

  • King-size bed

  • Sofa, writing desk

  • Informal dining table and chairs

  • Bathroom with twin vanities

  • Bathtub, separate shower/toilet

  • Cushioned banquette in courtyard

  • WiFi, sound system, safe

  • Air conditioning, ceiling fan

  • Mini bar

She also opted for some amazing ‘add-on’ experiences like an Angkor Temples pass, Tonle Sap Lake Sunset Cruise - Floating Village, and a Buddhist Spiritual Water Blessing. To get a true local experience, she hired a guide to take her around. First stop was some crunchy gastro adventurous food at Bugs Cafe. And yes…it is exactly what you think it is…a cafe that specializes in insects as food. Here are some options she had:

  • “Bug Mac” – burger with insect steak, sweet potato fries, homemade bread

  • “Savoury cupcakes” – olive and parmesan cupcakes garnished with crickets and silkworms

  • “Tarantula donuts” – whole marinated tarantulas coated in tempura and deep fried

  • “Pan fried scorpions” – marinated scorpions with garlic, parsley and cashew nuts

Don’t know about you, but this is a nope, nope, nope for me! All I’d be thinking is that the tarantula wouldn’t really be dead and it would come back to life and crawl back up my esophagus! It was at that time in the YouTube companion video taping when Alison set Lulu up perfectly for a salty, crunchy, buggy surprise! I just LOVE when I can hear that she’s setting her up, but Lulu isn’t sure if she is or not, but always lends to the side of trusting her bestie!! Makes me giggle every time! Alison dove right in and ate one but it took Lulu until the end of the podcast to try it. Now I just want to turn her reaction into a TikTok sound!!

Next was a 4 hands massage at the Sonya Spa for her and her guide. She’s 10K generous like that! Then they went to the Phare Cambodian Circus that thankfully doesn’t use animals, but it was started by the refugees as a form of art therapy following the brutal Khmer Rouge regime. Now having just enough time to fit in her tour of the temples, Alison decided to view them from a thrilling helicopter ride! She tipped her guide ‘Phat’ and that was the end of Alison’s 10K Day!

When we 10K ladies become rich, I am SO down for Lulu’s 10K day this week! She stayed at the Paws Up Resort in Missoula, Montana where this all-inclusive stay is no joke, y’all! For a mere $3600 a night provides:

  • 5 nights accommodations

  • all daily meals, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine, and well drinks

  • decorated tree in your home

  • visit from Santa on xmas eve

  • gingerbread house building contest

  • $500 prepaid resort credit per person per stay

  • transportation to/from Missoula international airport

  • One king bed, one queen bed

  • Master bedroom en suite bathroom with dual vanities

  • Second bedroom with detached full bathroom

  • Private deck with hot tub

  • Wi-Fi access

  • Daily full-service housekeeping

  • Use of Lexus personal vehicle

Lulu chose to view the crisp Montana sunrise from a Hot Air Balloon before having breakfast at The Breakfast Club including a breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy. Full belly charged, she then went for some exciting Snowmobiling! Bring some thick gloves, Lulu. Those handles get super duper hot when you’re revving it up out on the tundra!

Lunch was at Zoo Thai, an authentic Thai street food restaurant. Make sure you’ve eaten before she tells you what she got, because if not, you’ll be craving pineapple fried rice and green curry chicken like I now am! Then it was off to fill her mind with the incredible art at the Missoula Art Museum, which is absolutely FREE! There, she was able to revel in the amazing works by Neal Ambrose-Smith: Where Are You Going?

“In this exhibition, the artist uses the metaphor of multiple realities (through the use of black light, references to Alice in Wonderland, and Star Trek’s map of the known universe) to point out the fundamental problem with fixed solutions.” Lulu, of course, loved that Star Trek had some sort of influence over his works!

It was then time to support some of the local breweries, Imagine Brewing Co., where their mission is to transcend how a brewery serves a community by being the first in the country to include a center for community transformation. She tried the beers and bought a hoodie. She also visited Bayern Brewery, where they have been buying back 6-pack holders and/or giving recyclers trade-in value for beer or merchandise in the Tasting Room. They have an Eco-League where you can bring in old bottles of many kinds and get their beer put in them. Not only do they help stop waste that way, they offer their ‘spent grains’ to feed local cattle! Gotta love people who care about the earth and know how to have a good time at the same time!

Speaking of a good time, Lulu went to the Community Carousel, where by Opening Day, May 27, 1995, over 100,000 hours of volunteer time had gone into the construction of 38 permanent ponies; three replacement ponies; two chariots; 14 gargoyles, gargoyle frames and mirror frames; and the largest band organ in continuous use in the United States, all within a jewel box building. It truly is about a community coming together to help create something beautiful for all to enjoy. Lulu decided to donate some money to help them, so she chose Montana Bolt Co. and Home ReSource to stick with the reduce, recycle and reuse mission of the area.

You can’t go to Montana and not spend time with horses, so she went to a Horse Whispering Workshop, where she got a life-affirming and life-changing 2-hr. experience with horses. All that horse wrangling made her and Alison thirsty for more Montana beer! They dropped by the Highlander Brewery for pizza and beer in an igloo! And, of course to end out her wonderful 10K day, she bought a hoodie!

Alison is happy that her eldest daughter just booked a gig with her! How fun is THAT!?

Lulu is happy to have her Aunt still visiting from the Philippines as it’s been so great to spend adult time together.
