Another great review on Apple Podcasts!

5 star rating!!

“The friends you wish you had: These two are so cool and funny. But the magic is in their natural banter. They are immediately likable and you’ll wish they were your besties bringing over the wine on a Wednesday…”

Alison has once again made a former wishlist item turn into one of her obsessions! She’s been sleeping much better & cooler since she’s been using her Buffy Cloud Comforter! Click on that link for your affiliate discount on your very own Buffy comforter! Earth friendly and cruelty free materials AND a 7-Day free trial; what more could you want!!?

Lulu, being a member of the Herrera ’family of fruit bats’, is obsessed with Whole Foods 365 dried apricots. Although they are all natural, she thinks they taste like they’re infused with honey!

Florida is known for it’s mid-afternoon showers and I agree with Alison’s wishlist item! Wouldn’t it be great to have a designated spot in your car to store an umbrella?

Lulu wishes for the convenience of a small washing machine in her own bathroom. That whole walking to another floor is for the birds, I say!

To start the new year off right, Lulu went to Rapid City, South Dakota to stay at the Jacobs Penthouse in Historical Deadwood. It is a newly restored property located in the heart of Deadwood within walking distance of Main Street and the famous Mickelson Trailhead, which provides amusement for all ages, including the ‘Wild West’ re-enactments! Now, we know our Lulu is a big fan of art, so she loved that this Airbnb is owned and operated by the world famous artist, Scott Jacobs and his family. This hidden gem sits atop Jacobs Brewhouse & Grocer, giving their renters full access to the finest beer and wine, food and specialty groceries. We all know that Lulu is a big lover of art and typically chooses an art option wherever she travels. And Deadwood is no exception! Right there in historical downtown Deadwood is the Scott Jacobs Gallery that displays his captivating work!

With its gold rush history, the entire town is a designated National Historic Landmark District known for its well-preserved Old Rush-era architecture. And within that history is the visual calling card of South Dakota, Mount Rushmore, that displays the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Being such an iconic landscape, many filmmakers have desired to use it as a backdrop. So, as Lulu researched getting a permit for filming, she found that under the interim guidance issued on January 22, 2021, the National Park Service is not collecting application or location fees, or cost recovery for filming activities.

So, you know what that means!! She brought Alison and myself, Andrea (10KD2 Producer), along to do some filming! And, always big fans of Fatheads, she brought her and Alison’s enlarged cardboard heads for fun filming options! Always seeking good lighting for our filming, she rented lighting from Complete Wedding & Events. Knowing she needed a signature furniture piece for them to sit on while filming, she decided on a Victorian Camelback sofa from Laurel Crown for all the Victorian era and gothic influences. To go along with that delicious piece, she had her 10K eyes set on a modern blue acrylic console table from Chairish, but as that pricing was a bit too ‘cher,’ she chose a knock-off to stay within her 10K budget.

Lulu knew she wanted a couple of re-enactment actors for the video shoot, so she and Alison held auditions. And we all know that audition tables always need Twizzlers, so…ya know! Once auditions and the taping were done, it was time to do what actors do after a show. They go to a Pub! The 10K ladies went to the Wobbly Bobby Pub, and enjoyed some good ol’ fish & chips, nachos and beers like Pedro the Beaver, advertised that “This Mexican Lager tastes like it was cut down by the Beaver himself.” Not sure what that means, but I reckon if you drink enough of them…it just makes sense, right?

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Lulu’s 1st 10K adventure for the year of 2022!!

Always up for an adventure, Alison chose to ring in her new 10K year at Cumberland Caverns, with almost 30 miles of caves and underground passageways, incredible underground rock formations, beautiful underground waterfalls, and gleaming pools. Now, this is DEFO not the adventure that our Lulu would choose. And, honestly, I wouldn’t be up for it either. Too claustrophobic for this one! But, it’s super cool and you’re in this one alone, Alison!! Adventure on, sister sledge!

Going rugged all 10K style, Alison bought the Legacy Tour Overnight Spelunking Package tour out. Their website best explains what this experience is like: What To Expect: A stroll through the darkness of the Ten Acre Room - cross the infamous “Devil’s Quarry.”  By the time you reach “The Isle of Confusion,” you will be ready for a rest, but the adventure is far from over. Traversing up and down hand lines, climbing over boulders, navigating passages, and scaling the tallest ladder in the cave will lead you to passages not seen by the public before. You will experience dissolved limestone in Blue Mud Mountain, witness 20,000-year-old Lynx bones, and stand, where legendary cavers once stood before, at the incredible “Rock of Ages” monument. Then the Grand Extension leads to the third largest room in the cave— the Grand Hall! Set up camp!

AND, everyone takes a test crawl through “The Box” before each adventure. The crawl box dimensions are 14″x33″ and you must pass through the box before being allowed to embark on the adventure tour. Nope…that’s a big nope for me!! Probably for Lulu too, I reckon!

Armed with $20 cash for the snack bar, a Petzl PANGA Helmet, and a Brightest Flashlight, Alison was set for the adventure! Then, when it came time to set up camp, she also had it all covered in 10K style! She brought a 10-pack of the Intex PremAire Dream Support Air Mattress w/ Built-In Pump, Queen, because she’s super thoughtful like that! She’s using one for her experience and then leaving the other 9 for future spelunkers to use! For the night’s stay, she chose the Warm Cube Technology sleeping bag. Look it up! It’s fascinating with this cube technology!

For her second night’s stay in McMinnville, Alison chose the Isha Institute of Inner-Sciences, the breathtaking mountain retreat for stress relief, rejuvenation, and complete well-being. The smoke, alcohol, and drug free retreat offers yoga in its purest form, through experiential classical yoga and meditation classes, and powerfully energized meditation spaces. Alison opted for the King Suite as well as to partake of the “Yantra Ceremony with Sadhguru (“SAD GOO ROO) that is a special program that offers the rare opportunity of receiving the powerful Bhairavi (BEH RAA VEE_ Yantra Sadhana and a personalized Devi (DEV(in) EE) Yantra from Sadhguru. The intimate physical contact between you and the Devi Yantra will bring about a profound transformation in your life as it changes your energy system in such a way that Devi’s grace will function within you.

And to top off this experience, she enjoyed respite and dinner sustenance at the Falcon Rest (no, not Falcon Crest, you old folks like me!)

Not a lover of pulp, Alison is so happy about her lemon squeezer!

Lulu is so happy about how easy it was to replace her iPhone that she previously lost in the ocean.
