Los Angeles, CA (kind of) + Jasper, Canada: Tahhl Meh Mahhhh!

We have a new podcast! Or rather, we’ve moved our daily episodes to a new feed. So go subscribe to The Daily Happy - our daily 10 minute catch up session that reflects our #whatsyourhappy affirmation - there is something to be happy about every day, and while we are not here for ignoring the world around us, we are here for bringing the inspiration and the joy!

AND WAIT FOR IT…..

We now have a website for our web series, Live from [Blank]! Check out our latest episode from Kansas, Missouri, and follow along! And don’t forget to watch our latest YouTube episode!

As a professional voice teacher, Alison is obsessed with the Dots Singing & Music School YouTube channel. She uses the amazing warm ups for her students all the time now as she finds them so very helpful!

Lulu is obsessed with walking past all the opening notices on all the Broadway theatres now in NYC! She peers in the glass doors to see all the road cases and revels in the excitement of Broadway’s return! She’ll be performing on the Broadway boards soon enough!

Alison has fallen for the 12,000 ultra-fine micro-fiber bristles of the Silky Toothbrush. Have a listen and you’ll ask the same question I did…”What is ‘little gingivitis?”

Previously in Lulu’s ‘inventor brain’, but now on Lulu’s specific wishlist, Lulu desires Beis luggage, with a weight indicator. She partially likes it just because it sounds like our 10K Baes FB group!

Lulu’s magical 10K Dollar Day began with ordering a bargain of 15 chef-prepared, organic and gluten free meals from Kooshi Gourmet and reserving the Houdini Estate, the $15 million-dollar former home of legendary magician, Harry Houdini. Minutes from bustling Sunset Blvd., the intricately designed craftsman home is on the privately owned estate which includes a dramatic, three-story waterfall fed by a natural mineral spring, century-old palms and exotic trees, canyon views, one hour of hiking trails, pool, spa, BBQ patio, 7 gazebos, terraced gardens, a Koi pond, and parking for 80+ cars.

The house sleeps 8-10, but since Lulu decided to bring along an array of her talented friends to create a magic show of her own, she will find out that those rooms will most likely remain empty overnight. How do I know this, you ask? Well, as the ex-wife of a magician (that’s called foreshadowing), I have been to enough magic conventions to know that the magicians stay in the lobby overnight, sharing magic tricks, techniques and practicing.

Lulu selected a talented cast of her friend, Eric B. Davis, to fire breathe, one of the best close-up magicians around, Terry Ward, and 10K’s own, Alison Burns-Jackson, to blow some stardust like she did in Pippin. She flew them all First-Class from Tampa and to add even more ‘pizazz’ to the show, she decided to rent a tiger from Parrots 4 Parties, an exotic animal rental service in Los Angeles, CA. I thought it sounded like an odd political non-profit, but who am I!? Since she could only afford to rent one tiger, she got some glassless mylar mirrors to make the show look double the size! The show was a smashing success and when you listen, you’ll find out how she came upon her creative ‘magical’ math to keep her day just under 10K!

Alison chose The Fairmont Hotel in Jasper, Canada, so she could not only visit the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, but enjoy all these amazing add-on features at the hotel.

And because 10K Dollar Days are magical, she is able to partake of all of those amazing amenities as well as visit the Jasper National Park for the Icefield Skywalk. There she opted for the Jasper Ultimate Explorer Combo Package that includes a Banff Gondola (open year-round), the Columbia Icefield Adventure - including Skywalk (May 21 - Oct 17) and the Maligne Lake Cruise (Jun 4 - Oct 11). She then visited the Hot Springs - Miette Hot Springs, which is noted as having the hottest mineral water in the Rockies. Now, since Canada is currently experiencing a lifeguard shortage (yup…that’s a thing!), Alison used part of her 10K resources to fly 5 lifeguards in from Florida to watch over her as she rented the 5 pools of mineral water.

And since Jasper is the world's second-largest Dark Sky Preserve, she’s decided to re-purpose those guys to be her LIFEguards that night so she can relax and enjoy the view while they peruse the surroundings with their newly purchased Digital Infrared Night Vision Binoculars.

After a beautifully relaxing night of star-gazing (color Lulu jealous!), Alison went back to her hotel to put a dent in that $150 food and beverage credit. At a girl!

Alison’s neighbor called and the exact right time with an offer to take her daughter, Hannah for the afternoon. This gave her time to get a quiet break to lie down and do some other tasks, undisturbed.

Lulu got to witness the director of her current show see her online fitness coach ‘in person’ for the very first time on 9th Ave. in NYC!
