Nuuk, Greenland + Singapore: Don't click on it!

We have a new podcast! Or rather, we’ve moved our daily episodes to a new feed. So go subscribe to The Daily Happy - our daily 10 minute catch up session that reflects our #whatsyourhappy affirmation - there is something to be happy about every day, and while we are not here for ignoring the world around us, we are here for bringing the inspiration and the joy!

AND WAIT FOR IT…..

We now have a website for our web series, Live from [Blank]! Check out our latest episode from Kansas, Missouri, and follow along!

Freshly off the cruise ship with spotty and thready wifi, Lulu is obsessed with catching up on all streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu, etc. And, of course, she’s back to her favorite sitcom, Community.

Alison’s current obsession is her former wishlist item, the Fit Hoop. And believe me, watching her do it is worth a TikTok! Let’s just say, if I tried that thing, I’d throw my back out! I’m sure she’ll keep us updated on her progress.

Prepping for her upcoming move, Lulu is sorting through and cleaning things up, so now she wishes someone would clean up her computer. With all the work for the podcast and other projects, the file names and organization can be overwhelming.

Alison was craving some cheese dip and chips and wanted to go to her favorite Tex-Mex place, but sadly they are closed. You’ll notice that I didn’t add their website link, because…well…just listen to the episode and you’ll find out! Hint: It’s tied to the title of this episode.

This week, Lulu chose to brave the great green north of Nuuk, Greenland. On the recommendation of the Jordanian prince, HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammed, Lulu chose the Arctic Nomad resort for her very own imaginary experience of a lifetime. Consider it her way of telling him she’s not bitter that he got into Princeton and she didn’t.

As if this podcast wasn't already a fantasy...Lulu created her own 'sliding' scale of pricing as this place is très cher! This place leaves you wanting for nothing…including the elaborate luxury fur-filled tents, custom excursions and activities, delicious food and drink, and your own private tent with a real toilet and shower. But, they did seem a little bit possessive as they state that Arctic Nomad will service the customer from start to finish and be their only "point of contact." Sounds like a heavy commitment to me.

When in this chilly lap of luxury, Lulu wanted to spend some of her 10K love within the local economy. So, she donned her Goldbergh France Jumpsuit with matching belt bag (we 10K ladies are hardcore bringing the belly bag back, yo!") that makes her look and feel like a Bond villain! This and her Muskox knee warmers keeps her toasty warm for her cross country skiing excursion and her trek. If you don’t know what a Muskox is, press the word for the link. Always an art supporter, she visited the Nuuk Art Museum.

She stopped by Sarfalik for a tasty meal of butter-fried mussels: peas, shallots, truffle, dill, and crispy malt. The ladies were a bit sheepish about finding out what the cowberries part was of seasoned and fried reindeer with cowberries was, but if you’re brave, click on the word. Haha…it’s just northern cranberries.

Alison chose her city this week based on her zodiac sign through this site. Well, since they’ve already done the city chosen for her sign, she did some interesting mathematics to choose the city for Virgos. Singapore, where the site says, “Fortunately, Singapore is clean, safe, and organized. The island country has phenomenal restaurants, so Virgos won’t have to fret over food; it’s also very green, which appeals to this mutable earth sign.”

She stays in the Merlion Suite - Harbour View at the Marina Bay Sands resort, home of the world’s largest infinity pool where you can swim forever and ever and ever…just like on a surf board. Sure, the incredible amenities, access to an exclusive club and more are excitingly luxurious, but let’s face it, Alison’s mostly thrilled about the Pillow Menu!! Here at 10K, we’re big fans of a pillow menu!

Once she’s done swimming, she visits the Gardens by the Bay, an amazing horticulture destination with a Cloud Forest that mimics the cool-moist ecology of the tropical highlands. It has a treetop walk and a 114-foot waterfall and Supertrees, a grove of a dozen tree-like vertical gardens that harvest solar energy and feature nearly 163,000 plants.

After an inexpensive lunch of tasty treats and champagne, she hops on a bumboat to the small island of Pulau Ubin, home to less than 50 people. It is like walking into a time capsule. After a ‘bargain barn’ priced meal for $7, she hops the bumboat back to the main island for a Selfie Coffee, where you can literally drink your face off!! That’s right!! They have a selfie station stocked with props for you to take a selfie and then they will transfer the image to the top of your coffee for you to drink!!

Dinner plans are a bit more adventurous with Once Upon a Secret Supper where she can meet new friends in this mysterious secret dinner society.

Lulu was very happy that her planning ahead of alarms worked and she remembered to take her medication that she has to take every couple weeks.

Alison is happy to have her school year morning routine back where she can enjoy her hot coffee in a quiet home and do her yoga and beach walk.
