PodCastaway Retreat is this weekend! We have our spots filled & are so excited to help these budding podcasters grow their seed of an idea into a PODCAST!

Alison is obsessed with the hot celeb relationship between Tom Holland and Zendaya. Gotta love a good young celebrity relationship, right?! What would their celeb mashup name be? Holldaya? Tomdaya? I’m a fan of Zenland!

Lulu is obsessed with the stunning orange egg yolks that she gets in her cage-free eggs from Nest Fresh Eggs. Who knew they could be orange and not just yellow? Lulu did!

Food Prep takes TIME, yo!

Unlike me, Alison wishes she liked doing food prep more. I love chopping produce and making soups and such, but my problem is I don’t want any of it once I’m done. So, we’re just gonna have to get rich enough to have personal chefs who can shop, prep and cook on the FLY!

Lulu wishes for headphones that won’t make her sweat. She could try these Everyday Raycon Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds with Microphone- Stereo Sound in-Ear Bluetooth Headset True Wireless Earbuds 32 Hours Playtime (Matte Blue).

Thanks to the genius that is Lulu’s other bestie, Danny Loranca, this week’s inspiration word is CONNECTICUT! Lulu chose the Antipodal route for her city and landed on Augusta, Australia. She chose an Airbnb: 2 bedroom premium beach house @ Smiths Beach Resort with an outdoor sofa to make the most of stunning ocean views and the famous Western Australian sunsets.

She jaunted around in a Margaret River Rent a Car that took her to breakfast at The Colour Patch for some Australian grilled bread her mother has been raving about, with orange marmalade, salted butter, a sweetcorn & zucchini fritter, breakfast tea with oat milk and an espresso martini since, ya know…it’s 10K!

Next was the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, situated at the most south-westerly point of Australia. It is the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia and most consider it a ‘must-see attraction.’ It was constructed from local limestone in 1895, and is still a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape. Realizing that she’d be climbing about 12 flights of stairs, Lulu opted for the Boost Oxygen that comes in many different flavors.

Lunch was at Blue Ocean Fish and Chips Restaurant where Lulu was willing to pay for 30 people to get what they wanted to eat in the hopes that someone would order the pineapple fritters and banana fritters, so she could try them. All of this was her way of preventing food waste and providing for others.

Jewel Cave was the next adventure on the agenda where you’ll find a most hilarious soundbites between Alison and Lulu about stalactites and stalagmites on our social media! There she had a fully guided tour showcasing the towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and then went on to the Karri Walk through the towering forest giants of the tall Australian eucalyptus trees with hard red wood.

After reading some reviews of the physical effect from this experience on one’s body, Lulu opted for a knee brace as well as some KT Pro Tape, Penetrex Pain Relief Creme and then embarked on the Naturaliste Whale Watching Tour. They even have a guarantee! They say, “We have a strong 99% success rate across our tours, on the small chance you don’t get to see whales, you can come back for FREE!!!”

Who knew that Augusta, Australia was the place to find such exquisite nougat?? Lulu did! Get your tooth crowns secured, folks! She went to Bettenay’s to pick up some Laminton, Summer Fruit Quencher, and Rum & Raisin nougat. An extra bonus was the Nougaretto she picked up to enjoy for the rest of her trip.

Dinner was at Gusty’s Pizza in an old bus where she got the Mediterranean Napolitano base, mozzarella, red onion, olive, feta, and more. What pizza doesn’t taste better while eaten in a bus, eh? Once fully sated, she headed back to the hotel to relax on that beautiful patio/balcony with her newly purchased Lounge Doctor Elevating Leg Rest Pillow and Hyperice Normatec 2.0 pro full body package to relieve any tension or leg swelling from her long day of climbing stairs and other adventures.

Alison decided to travel to Connecticut’s first established town, Windsor! And since nothing in Windsor seems remotely expensive, she opted to stay at the Goodwin Hotel in Hartford, just 11 minutes from Windsor. It claims to be “A timeless classic with modern flair. classic stone fireplaces, warm mahogany woods and other architectural details that harken back to an era of service and sophistication.” She opted for the Two Bedroom Executive Duplex which is a two-story, two bedroom loft styled suite with the Wine & Dine Package that includes a gift card to the restaurant, Max Downtown and a bottle of champagne.

Breakfast was at Vivo Hartford, the winner of the 2012 American Culinary Foundation’s Achievement of Excellence Award. This coveted award was given to only eleven restaurants nationwide. From there she ventured to the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum where she took a trip back in time and technology in chronological order starting in the 1800s and leading up to the 1980s. She got to experience many of the incarnations of radio and opted into the Adopt a Radio program where you can pay a reasonable price to take old radios home to rehab them. She adopted the Majestic Model 90, Atwater-Kent Model and the 1920's Pooley Acoustic Phonograph for $130. What a bargain!

Lunch was at the Back East Brewery, where she opted for all of the 15 beers they have on tap at any one time. Who needs food when beer is so filling, right?! Now, with Windsor not really being an expensive place to visit, Alison had to think outside the box…the litter box, to be exact! Searching online for anything expensive in Windsor, she found the Happy Cat Hotel, where they offer ‘Individually themed luxury hotel rooms & kitty spa for your best feline friends with daily brushing, play, affection and enrichment activities throughout the day.’

Realizing she’d first need an actual ‘cat’ to partake of this expensive option, she had to adopt one! So, she chose Esmeralda from CTCatConnection and opted for some fanciful amenities for her newly acquired rescue kitty! Then she had a thought…since she had so much more $ to burn for her $10K day, she would buy a ‘tricked out cat 10K day’ for every of the 50 cats left in the rescue, as a gift for once they get adopted. And that included room, board and added playtime $80 per cat! = $4000!! Way to go, Alison! aka: the cat lady!

Hungry from all that kitty do-goodery, she needed some dinner, so she chose La Notte Waterside Grille, but she thenrealized at that point, her day was still under $7K! So, the only most logical option was to travel via air to the other Windsor in the world and that was in the United Kingdom! So, she took a flight to Windsor, UK and went to Sir Christopher Wren for afternoon tea! Now, that is what I call 10K living!! But, wait…there’s MORE! She flew back to Windsor, CT only to drop by the Windsor Court Liquors to buy 28 bottles of $50 wines to total out her day just under $10K! Those cats and their cat ladies must be super happy with the amenities and wine!

Solitude and the road ahead…ahh…bliss!

Alison’s solo drive from Largo to Orlando made her so happy! No kids interruptions, no music…just herself, her thoughts and the open road, baby!

Never missing an episode in 4 yrs. and posting 9 episodes a week for over a year, Alison and Lulu have to record episodes in ‘stacks.’ So, this week, Lulu is happy that she can still see the Christmas decorations while they recorded this episode!

Call out the holly…WAIT…what?? No, it’s Haul out the holly!!!
