Alison is obsessed with Bob’s Burgers, which she thinks is a new discovery not realizing it’s been around forever. But she loves it for how absolutely clever it is! Lulu is obsessed with Uprising Keto bread…because being Keto during the pandemic is hard but this bread makes it so much easier.

Asking is wanting a MacBook Pro…because with all the sound and video editing of our episodes and her other work, her current computer is just not cutting it. Lulu is wishing for an armoire…because months in to the pandemic and her clothes are still in suitcases. And who knows how long she’ll be living at her parent’s? Looking at you, covid.

Lulu is visiting this oh-so-romantic destination based on her discovery of the picturesque White Barn Inn & Spa. In addition to rooms and suites, they have standalone cottages. The Friendship Cottage is the one she chooses, which has a fireplace, outdoor sitting area facing the river, and an infinity soaking tub. Wanting to add a little zhuzh to her stay, Lulu adds on the romance package: champagne, strawberries, roses, and a seasonal nightcap, then a mimosa breakfast. She’s making a mental note to actually go here with her next romantic partner.

It’s Maine, so obviously Lobster is happening. Going all out for this outing, Lulu dons this Libertine Lobster Graphic Jacket from Neiman Marcus and hops a boat with Rugosa Lobster Tours. You get to take in the views, and you can even volunteer to help pull in the lobster traps! Since Lulu spent $1,000 on her jacket, safe to say she would just observe the process rather than actively engaging.

For lunch Lulu heads to The Clam Shack, as she has heard they have the best lobster rolls in the area. In addition to the lobster roll she also tries their fried clams and clam chowder. In the era of food delivery we are currently in, Lulu was very excited that the fancy general store HP Provisions will ship a lobster roll kit to you. She sends kits to her parents, her sister, and Alison!

Next on her list is to check out gift shop Farm + Table where she busy several of their “Cape Porpoise” candles, because she is obsessed, and running low at this point in her research. Looking for some sweets, she tries the whoopie pies at Auntie’s. Still hankering for some sugar, she checks out Rococo Ice Cream whose unique flavors are very appetizing. “Garam masala”, “Goat cheese blackberry Chambord”, “Lemon pink peppercorn”, and “Sweet avocado cayenne” are among the ones she samples, before shipping 7 pints each to her family and friends who are receiving lobster roll kits in the mail. Nice to have friends with good taste and deep (if only imaginary) pockets!

After all of that sampling and souvenir shopping, a little pampering is in order. So Lulu heads to the Tree Spa at Hidden Pond, where the treatment rooms are in tree houses connected by bridges! The spa incorporates herbs they grow in their garden (think rosemary, mint, lavender, etc.) into their treatments. She books the Muscle Melt Renewal Massage, which sounds heavenly!

Sticking with the Hidden Pond Resort, Lulu grabs dinner at their on-site restaurant, Earth. The design and ambience sets the tone for their delicious five course prix fixe menu.

Back at her cottage, Lulu decides it’s time for a bath! To make her experience as relaxing as possible, she indulges in some bath time essentials. First, she has to get Amayori luxury bath salts, which she originally found when planning a trip for Alison to Kohana Island, Okinawa Japan. Lulu also purchased a handprinted lotus kimono robe by Kim + Ono (we see what you did there, clever!), Ugg Scuffette slippers, and an Apple iPad Pro to binge watch some of her favorite shows. What a perfect way to unwind from her day!

10K Dollar Day in Crater Lake, Oregon #luxurytravel #uniquetravel #travelguide #traveltips #travelcomedy #travelblog #travelpodcast

Crater Lake is one of the deepest lakes in the entire world. Over 7,000 years ago, a volcano erupted causing a collapse that created this lake. It is fed by rain and snow, no rivers or streams or any other body of water connect to the lake. This makes it the clearest blue color you’ve ever seen! With no sharks and no alligators, frolicking in this lake is a must-try!

The lodging is absurdly affordable in the area, so Alison booked the entire Crystal Creek Lodge near Crater Lake and Klamath Falls, Oregon. The 8 bedroom cabin sits on 135 acres and boasts over 10 miles of trails. With room for sixteen, this is the perfect nature-centric getaway for $900-1200 a night.

A great way to explore the stunning waters, Alison signs up for scuba lessons with Rogue Aquatics. Her fist lesson is just $40, but to get certified you have to do a open-water lesson, and that costs $425.

You have to hike a bit of a trail to get to this lake, and carrying a lot of heavy gear doesn’t sound exciting. So Alison did some research to find the best lightweight scuba gear. Thinking she’d be at it for awhile, she was so relieved to stumbled across Travel Fashion Girl - where she got the perfect recommendations for her gear all in one article:

Looking for a place to nosh within the Crater Lake National Park, Alison decides on Annie Creek Restaurant, which has breakfast, burgers, and local brews.

Wanting to capture all the magic of this outdoor marvel, Alison purchases the DJI Mavic Mini. A drone that is perfect for beginners, it’s not much larger than a smart phone, and is very user-friendly. And at $516 it’s a reasonable price tag to start her on her travel video awesomeness.

Alison brings her drone on a boat tour to Wizard Island, a land mass in the middle of the lake. She is going to hike up to the top of the island so she can get footage of her waving from the top! After this adventure she heads back to the lodge to eat dinner, where she has a six bottle lot of Opus One 2016 Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend 99 Points that she ordered off of eBay waiting on her. Cheers!
