Puro Vik, Chile + Salt Lake City, Utah

This month's guest googler is none other than Gregg Monteith! You know Gregg, we mention him quite often, and he is the filmmaker (and host) behind some of our popular youtube episodes - "We Call This: Drunk On Gregg's Couch". and "It's Harry Potter!". His adorable pup Oscar even makes some appearances in said videos.

Alison is obsessed with being able to buy sunglasses at Publix. She doesn't care that this is possibly the least 10K obsession ever, because the convenience of being able to replace sunglasses that she constantly loses on her weekly grocery run is luxury mom life goals. Gregg is obsessed with finding bar trivia across NYC, and is especially fond of the one at his "home bar" in Astoria, Sek'end Sun. Lulu is obsessed with watching Alison watch her get her keys...that needs an explanation. Lulu has an interesting key habit. She never takes her keys with her, she always leaves them with the doorman. Insane fear of losing keys, solved! The trio also discuss hiding photos on your phone, which you can do without or with an app, which Alison seems to be very familiar with using.

Gregg rocking his wishlist item come true!

Alison is wishing for the Cocoa & Eve Sunny Honey Bali bronzing foam, the next-must-have-best-thing in self-tanning.

Gregg wants a new winter coat, that's nice, fashionable, long-lasting...all the things. And guess what, by the time we released this episode, his wish had come true. He is the proud owner (wearer?) of the Canada Goose Wyndham Parka, in black, of course, like a true New Yorker.

Lulu is wishing for the Unbound wireless curling iron, being able to curl her hair from any place when nary an outlet in site, seems like a dream come true.

10K Dollar Day at Puro Vik in Chile #luxurytravel #uniquetravel #travelguide #traveltips #travelcomedy #travelblog #travelpodcast #southamericatravel #winetravel

Alison found out about this place on a website called Landed Travel, a boutique travel company specializing in highly curated excursions in South America, Central America, Antartica, and...they have a podcast, which Alison is very excited about based on the website alone, she hasn't actually listened to it yet. Alison is headed to Chile - specifically the Puro Vik retreat, located two hours away from Santiago. It is a collection of glass houses that hang from the steep hills surrounding Chile’s stunning Millahue Valley. This incredible outpost of the Vik Retreats collection of astounding accommodations may just top them all, in our opinion. Featured on CNN.com and Vogue.com among many other outlets, Puro Vik is worth all this attention and more. It's 22-rooms are individual houses with 3 walls of floor-to ceiling windows, each one decorated in a unique theme. The incredible views of the Viña Vik winery aren't disappointing either.

Guests at the Puro Vik retreat can book rooms, or can book the "full experience", which seems well worth the upgraded price, considering you are welcome to utilize the amenities of the sister hotel, Vik Chile. Her stay includes:

Alison doesn't care about doing anything else but a bevy of treatments at their Holistic Wine Spa. You will feel the same when you read all of the services she is booking, this is literally the ultimate spa day.

  • Luxurious wine bath that relieves muscle aches. $225

  • Luxurious and natural body scrub with natural grape seeds and grape seed oil, that hydrates the skin $125

  • Foot Scrub Ritual $115

  • Lymphatic Drainage Massage $130

  • Chocolate Body Wrap $170

  • Ultra Lift & Tone Facial $150

Believe it or not, she has only spent half of her $10,000 budget at this point. That's right with two nights in a luxury suspended glass house, meals, all the wine she could possibly drink, and a 6-item spa day, she still has $4400 left to spend. Luckily, she found this 4-hour private helicopter tour through Viator, which takes you over the Andes Mountains, the capitol city of Santiago, the world surfing capitol of Pichilemu, and a stop at Morros de Punta de Lobos, all for a price tag of $4000.

10K Dollar Day in Salt Lake City, Utah #luxurytravel #uniquetravel #travelguide #traveltips #travelcomedy #travelblog #travelpodcast #USAtravel

Lulu planned this day when planning 10K Dollar Day’s IRL visit to Salt Lake City, where they performed a live episode and were on some panels at Outlier Podcast Festival back in January. While they really enjoyed their real life stay at the Doubletree Suites, how cool would it have been to have booked this Deer Valley Luxury Home through Airbnb? With 12 bedrooms and 18 beds - many of which are extra roomy bunk bed style - there is room to sleep 40+ people in this 10,000 square foot house! Plus there is a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen with loads of seating, a gym, a hot tub, a fire pit, a theater room, a game room, and an indoor basketball court! It offers unparalleled views of Park City Valley, Park City Resort and Deer Valley Resort.

The house has a private caterer available, as well as a private shuttle to take you wherever you want to go within Park City and Deer Valley. They also have passes available for the Silver Mountain Sports Club, which is not just your typical neighborhood pool. Year-round heated pools, slides, spa center, this is the place to be...in warm weather anyways.

She could have never left the house or sports club, but Lulu decides to take a chance on Barefoot Tubing. Two hours riding the class II whitewater rapids, taking in amazing rock formations like the Weber Arch and Devil’s Slide. She follows every precaution and attire recommendation with the items from a pre-trip shopping spree:

Lulu is very serious about suncare, and loves to drop some of her 10K on luxury beauty products, so here goes $500 on some SPF in every shape, form, and size she could find:

For lunch she heads to Red Iguana, which was recommended to us by one of our 10K Saturday guests, Daniel Cilli! P.S. - we went in real life, and “Killer Mexican Food That’s Worth the Wait!” is an understatement, to be sure. With multiple locations nationwide, Lulu is amped to head to K1 Speed...“America’s premier indoor electric kart racing company.” She gets up to the max speed of 45 mph, lapping every one else three times around, before calling it a day and heading to dinner. She heads to Log Haven Restaurant located in a historic log mansion in the Wasatch National Forest, minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. With lots of nature-inspired, salt-of-the-earth style fare, Lulu opts for the artichoke soup, a lemon arugula salad, and elk wrapped in bacon. And all the wine.
